The Fishing

Kulik Lodge Alaska Fly FishingThe river is the epitome of a rainbow trout stream, a short, clear, graveled bottom river nestled between Kulik and Nonvianuk Lakes, offering perfect conditions for both rainbow trout and sockeye salmon spawning grounds. Besides the incredible fishing right near the lodge you also have the use of the air force of float planes the lodge owns which enables you to visit the numerous rivers located within the 100 mile radius that the Lodge has the permits to fish. Whether you are interested in rainbow trout, arctic char, arctic grayling, lake trout, northern pike or the 5 species of Pacific Salmon the fishing manager and guides will make sure your expectations are exceeded. Don’t forget that Kulik Lodge is one of the easiest Alaskan bush fishing destinations to reach from Anchorage as they have their own gravel airstrip at the lodge where they operate their own transport planes to get you in to the lodge directly and safely. This ease of travel is not only great for logistics but your round trip flight from Anchorage is also included in your package!

A typical day at Kulik Lodge will most likely consist of an early fly out to a river for trout or salmon using one of three methods to access each particular stream; spending the day walk/wading a small creek, floating using a raft on one of the shorter local rivers, or using one of the numerous jet boats that the lodge has cached on the rivers in the area. If you are looking for variety Kulik has it.

Once the day if finished, you fly back to the lodge and enjoy a fine dinner and cocktails. If you need a few more rainbows on the end of your line, hit the river again in the evening. Another positive note on the fishing program at Kulik Lodge, is that you will fish, depending on flight times, on either your arrival or departure day and sometimes both! This option is available since the Kulik Lodge controls the flights into the Lodge with their own aircraft.

There are also a variety of sightseeing options if you are looking for a family day or a day to rest your arm. Some of the best bear viewing on the planet is located just 15 minutes away by floatplane at the sister lodge of Kulik, The Brooks Lodge. Flying to the south over the Aleutian Range, there are many active volcanoes, glaciers, tons of wildlife and more open space than you can imagine. This is truly the opportunity for a well-rounded Alaskan adventure.

The facilities at the lodge are very modern and comfortable. There are more than enough creature comforts to enjoy while you are not out fishing including a very nice hot tub and a tundra golf course.

Kulik’s guest cabins can accommodate two guests at a time and come equipped with modern facilities including great heaters, comfortable beds and rooms with plenty of amenities. There are two larger cabins on the premises that can accommodate 3 to 4 guests at a time for families or groups that like to be together. The lodge is made of native spruce logs and provides a spacious, comfortable atmosphere for guests to relax, tell fishing stories, and form new friendships and reaffirm old ones. While at the lodge, everything is relaxed and if there is ever something that you need all you have to do is ask. Although the staff at Kulik Lodge has pretty much thought of everything you will need during your stay, they pride themselves on their high level of service and taking care of your every need.

    Travel Information for Kulik Lodge

    Fly into Anchorage. A representative from Kulik Lodge will greet you and arrange your flight to the lodge.

    Alaska is well served by a number of airlines including Alaska Airlines, Delta Airlines, United Airlines and Northwest Airlines. Flight times vary, but non stop flights to Anchorage run from over 3 hours from Seattle to over 5 hours from the Chicago or Minneapolis. For schedules please visit the individual airlines websites.

    Anchorage is often called the "air crossroads of the world" due to its strategic location between major population centers in North America, Europe and Asia. Alaskan fishing is open to anglers worldwide.

    Terms and Conditions/Cancellation and Refund Policies

    Once Castafly Travel, LLC receives a deposit or final payment for any type of trip, it is anacknowledgment and agreement by the client to all Terms and Conditions and Cancellation and Refund policies:

    Non-refundable deposits and payment.

    Your payment for a trip is non-refundable, regardless of the means for payment, be it credit card, cash or check.

    Deposits

    Unless otherwise noted by the vendor,
    • Deposits are due within 14 days of booking.
    • 50% Deposit Required
    • The balance payment is due 90 days prior to the beginning date of the reservation.
    • Kulik Lodge cancellations will be refunded only if all available space is sold.
    • Where changes are made in the itinerary at the request of the guest, no refunds will be made.
    • Deposits are not transferable to another reservation or reservation date.
    • Castafly Travel strongly suggests the purchase of travel insurance for trips to Grosvenor Lodges

    Cancellation and Refund Policy

     Unless otherwised noted by the vendor,
    • All cancellations for any type of trip must be made in writing to Castafly Travel, LLC. Castafly Travel, LLC reserves the right to charge a service fee of $100 for any cancellations of any type of reservation.
    • Cancellation outside of 90 days prior to scheduled departure – 90% of deposit or payment refund or transfer of funds to another scheduled time or another angler.
    • Cancellation between 60 and 90 days prior to scheduled departure - 70% of deposit or payment refund or transfer of funds to another scheduled time or another angler.
    • Cancellation between 30 and 60 days prior to scheduled departure – 60% of deposit or payment refund or transfer of funds to another scheduled time or another angler.
    • Cancellation 30 days or less prior to scheduled departure – No refund of deposit or final payment.

    Trip cancellation insurance and evacuation insurance.

    Because your deposit and other payment is non-refundable, Castafly Travel, LLC suggests you consider trip and medical evacuation insurance. This insurance is the best way to avoid losing your deposit due to unanticipated circumstances or emergencies. Because Castafly Travel, LLC has no ability to control your deposit onceit is forwarded to the respective lodge, outfitter, etc., we have developed a relationship with Sportsman’s Travel Insurance.

    We also recommend trip evacuation/rescue insurance with Global Rescue, a medical and security evacuation service. We strongly urge to consider these types of insurance, be it with Sportsman’s Travel, Global Rescue, or some other trip and medical evacuation insurance company. A brochure for each company is included in your pre-trip planning package.

    Castafly Travel, LLC and its affiliated companies and agents act only as agents for contractors or owners and outfitters, hotels, airlines, shipowners, and charter air carriers providing means of transportation or other services. All tickets, vouchers and contracts of such hotels, airlines, outfitters, lodges, operators and owners are issued subject to any and all tariffs, terms and conditions under which such accommodations, means of transportation or other services are offered or provided, and the issuance and acceptance of any such tickets, vouchers and contracts shall be deemed to be consent to their further conditions.

    Castafly Travel, LLC and any of its affiliated or associated companies or agents shall not be or become liable or responsible in any way in connection with such hotels or lodges, means of transportation or other services, or for any loss, injury or damage to or in respect to any person or property however caused or arising out of your vacation booked through our company.

    Itinerary alterations.

    Castafly Travel reserves the right to make such alterations in the itinerary as it deems in its discretion, necessary or desirable, to refuse to accept or retain as a member of the party any person at any time (in such case refund will be based on the actual cost of the unfinished portion of tour) and to pass on to tour clients expenditures caused by delays or offense beyond our control.

    Cancellation.

    Castafly Travel, LLC reserves the right to cancel any tour prior to departure, in which case full refund will constitute full settlement to the client.

    Baggage and personal effects, including items purchased, are the sole responsibility of the owners at all times and no member or agent of Castafly Travel, LLC or its agents, affiliated or associated companies is authorized to accept these for storage, safekeeping, or transportation
